FINNMARK-LAPLAND

Finnmark and its territories are directly linked to the Sami culture which extends across the territories to the north of the Arctic Circle in Norway, Sweden and Finland as well as the Kola Peninsula in Russia. The Sami people are traditionally linked to the migration of reindeer during their seasonal treks between the hinterland and the coast.

The European Arctic coast is dominated by a lunar landscape of Arctic tundra, with small towns forgotten by time and dense forests of spruce trees and salmon rivers which attract a significant number of elite fishermen during the summer months each year.

As elsewhere in the Arctic, light is the star attraction, change is a constant feature and it is hard to remain unmoved by these splendours of Nature. The power of the elements is visible at each and every moment.
