LOFOTEN ISLANDS

This spectacular archipelago is located in the region of Norland 69 degrees in latitude and 300 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle. This mountain range dramatically emerges from the sea to create seascapes of hundreds of islands and fjords, sculpted during the last ice age. This is without a doubt the most beautiful and breath taking part of the Nordic region.

Its cheerful and hospitable people earn a living fishing for Winter Cod and Herring. Small fishing villages are dotted here and there in bays nestled between granite cliffs and turquoise beaches, whilst hundreds of islets emerge and submerge with the flow of the tides. The light is the undisputed star of this area.
